The Building and Safety Bureau works to safeguard public health, safety, and property through the plan check, permit, and inspection processes. The City has created three new permit types for the installation of a furnace and/or air conditioner, and water heaters, along with an electrical appliance permit to go with them.

If you are sending payment via check through the mail please include copies of all invoices being paid. Working hard to ensure that buildings are safe, sustainable and structurally sound — Bureau staff responded to 10,488 phone calls for plan checks and completed reviews of 1,089projects. A total of 2,805 permits were issued and 10,698 residential & commercial inspections were conducted. Excavation for caissons or piles under buildings or structures, swimming pools, or underground structures that are authorized by valid building permits. We are pleased to offer our citizens, businesses, and visitors access to government information online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Building and Safety Division ensures the safe occupancy of buildings by verifying construction compliance with regulated building and fire codes, and construction that is built in accordance with approved planning entitlements. Safety of building occupancy, compliance with entitlements through the public process, and customer service are the main focuses of the Division. Building and Safety operations include public counter permitting operations, plan review and building inspection. The Division is consistent with the City’s environmentally-friendly and sustainable goals with its enforcement of energy and water conservation regulations, green building compliance and its paperless Electronic Plan Review system.

With these changes, the City anticipates faster permit issuance, quicker staff response times, improved communication, and better visibility to the forms for community members online in the Citizen Access system. Overall the time saved from these process changes will increase the City’s ability to service customers. The City of Menifee Building & Safety Department is pleased to announce our new Accela Citizen Access and SolarAPP+ portal, which will provide residents, contractors, developers, and visitors access to some permitting services online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Permit Center Customers Encouraged to Make In-Person Appointments Starting on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021, Permit Center services will be expanded to include in-person services for all development projects. New State Building Standards Code Changes to Take Effect Beginning on July 1, 2021, Long Beach is required by law to enforce the 2019 Intervening Code Adoption Cycle approved by the California Building Standards Commission.
